Water Jet Department Lead
#1. Two-year vocational training in the machinist trade with CNC and CAD, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
#2. Certified in OMAX and/or Flow Water Jet machines.
#3. Ability to operate water jet and CNC machines.
Responsibilities of the Water Jet Department Lead:
Responsible for supervising staff; organizing and monitoring work flow in water jet department, machining and water jet cutting operations.
- Ensure all in-house activities and procedures are as per the AS9100 standards. Ensuring total quality assurance of all machining specifications, safety of machine operators under your supervision. You are also required to study production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignments.
- Must be able to interpret drawings and specifications, production schedules and assign work orders and duties to the water jet machine operators.
- Establish and maintain the tracking and reporting of new tools, ensuring their timely creation and delivery to production.
- Establish or adjust work procedures when necessary to meet production schedules and optimize work flow through the cutting cell ensuring sufficient resources are available to complete tasks in the time frame required.
- Ensures operation of equipment by calling for repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
- Provides manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data; answering questions and responding to requests.
- Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Resolves personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action.
- Responsible for conforming to the company’s quality system procedures as documented.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements for the Water Jet Department Lead:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Two-year vocational training in the machinist trade with CNC and CAD, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Certified in OMAX and/or Flow Water Jet machines preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills, and ability to mediate conflict
- Ability to operate water jet and CNC machines
- Strong mathematical skills
- Ability to read and understand complex written instructions, specifications documents, etc.
- Background in production and manufacturing methods and processes
- Knowledge of record keeping practices.
- Knowledge of safety practices.
- Ability to effectively communicate.
- Basic knowledge of office programs such as Word, Excel, etc.
Other Key Requirements:
- 100% onsite, in-office role.
- Scheduled: 6 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Thursday
- No sponsorships or visa holders. No Corp-to-Corp.

Salary: $22.35 - $25.00 per hour
