Head Aircraft Mechanic (Non-Jet) performs routine aircraft inspections and repairs and ensures that aircrafts are maintained in the highest state of mechanical condition possible. Has completed necessary trade school courses. Being a Head Aircraft Mechanic (Non-Jet) typically requires an associate degree. Possesses necessary FAA Aircraft Mechanic Airframe and Power Plant Certificate. Additionally, Head Aircraft Mechanic (Non-Jet) typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. POSITION DESCRIPTION: Candidate will oversee the morning training hours. Candidate will enforce all rules and regulations. Candidate will assist riders from start to finish of races. Candidate must handle emergencies before, during or after each race. During race, candidate must notify stewards of objections or any problems. Candidate is responsible for maintaining a safe environment on the track. Candidate is responsible to make certain that all track and PA Rules of Racing are followed by riders and horsemen while on the racetrack. Candidate is responsible for capturing loose horses on the racetrack. Candidate will contribute to the Racing Department team by overseeing and accomplishing all other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Candidate must have knowledge of PA Rules of Racing and have previous work experience with horses. Candidate must provide their own quarter horse and tack. We provide stall and feed allowance. Candidate is required to be able to obtain/maintain a Pennsylvania Racing License.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma or equivalent.
