The department of athletic training seeks an assistant/associate athletic trainer, depending on experience. Under the direct supervision of the head athletic trainer, the assistant/associate athletic trainer is responsible for assisting in the supervision and coordination of LVC’s sports medicine program; to include injury prevention, evaluation, management and treatment of athletic injuries, short and long term rehabilitation of athletic injuries, and education and counseling of student-athletes in regard to injuries and prevention. The assistant/associate athletic trainer is responsible for assisting in athletic related health care in consultation with and under the supervision of the team physician(s). Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in area of specialization and 4 years of professional experience preferred; or Master degree and 2 years of professional experience, certification by the Board of Certification (BOC), state athletic training licensure, familiarity with NCAA governing rules, CPR-First Aid Certification preferred, strength and conditioning experience, capacity to deal effectively in emergency situations, availability for significant travel, evening or weekend hours as necessary, the ability to lift up to 40 pounds on a regular basis (or with assistance), and a valid PA driver’s license.
