    The Athletic Trainer II is responsible for the prevention, assessment, immediate management, treatment, and rehabilitation of student-athlete injuries and conditions as defined by the State of Florida practice act as well as collegiate, Baptist Health Care, and Andrews Institute Sports Medicine Outreach guidelines and standards. This position provides quality healthcare services to assigned sports, teams, and/or coverage sites in accordance with sports medicine agreements, including travelling with teams as required. This position acts as an ambassador for Baptist Health Care, Andrews Institute, and the sports medicine department, facilitating access and availability for all health care services. The AT plays an integral role in educating appropriate personnel (i.e., coaches, athletic directors, administrators, officials, etc.) on emergency preparedness, injury prevention, and best practices for the health, care, and well-being of student-athletes, spectators, and staff.

    Responsibilities
    • Responsible for following all hospital and departmental precautions and procedures in the performance of job duties to ensure a safe work environment for self and others. Follows departmental and collegiate guidelines, protocols, and policies in keeping with best practices and standards of care.
    • Obtains equipment needed for quality patient care delivery at all work sites and/or venues.
    • Provides athletic health care services to assigned sports, teams, and/or sites in accordance with applicable sports medicine agreement(s) and within scope of practice as outlined by State of Florida.
    • Documents, tracks, and reports organizational and administrative data (i.e., athletic injuries, referrals, and AT time/activity reports) from assigned sports, teams, and/or sites as instructed and by established deadlines.
    • Communicates effectively and appropriately with all sports medicine team members, athletic health care team members, and Sports Medicine Outreach Leadership.
    • Act as an Ambassador for BHC, AI, Sports Medicine Outreach, and the athletic training profession at all times.
    • May provide oversight of BHC- and collegiate-approved students.
    • Participates in other departmental requirements of the Athletic Trainer (ex. preparticipation physical exams, concussion baseline testing, injury clinics, etc.).
    • Maintains current knowledge/certification/licensure. Pursues professional growth and development.
    • Responsible for promptly documenting, tracking, and reporting athletic injuries from assigned sports and sites, ensuring medical records are maintained for all student-athletes.

    Qualifications
    • Bachelor's Degree Athletic Training, Exercise Science, Health Leisure & Exercise Scie Required or Master's Degree Athletic Training, Exercise Science, Health Leisure & Exercise Scie Required.
    • 1-3 years Collegiate athletic training experience Preferred.
    • Athletic Trainer Licensed State of Florida Upon Hire Required and Certified Athletic Trainer (AT_BOC) Board certification Upon Hire Required.
    • BLS for Healthcare Providers (BLS) American Heart Association Upon Hire Required.
    • Knowledge of operations of sports medicine programs.
    • Excellent communication skills and customer service.
    • Knowledge of industry best practices and guidelines.
    • Care and prevention of athletic injuries.
    • Knowledge of operations of physician networking and referral management.
    • Comfort in evaluation skills and setting up plan of care and rehabilitation.
    • Problem solving and decision making capabilities.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to seek and accept direction and clarification from others.
    • Ability to deal appropriately with confidential information.
    • Possess organizational skills and be able to multi-task effectively.
    • Knowledge of medical terminology.
