Assists players in reaching highest athletic potential possible through athletic training and leadership skills. Additionally, Head Coach (Major Sport) must be familiar with NCAA rules and regulations. Requires a bachelor's degree in the related area. Typically reports to a institutional officer. Head Coach (Major Sport) is a specialist on complex technical and business matters. Work is highly independent. May assume a team lead role for the work group.     HIRING SALARY RANGE: $2,800 Stipend

    Description of Duties:

    Coaches are responsible for organizing and maintaining an Interscholastic team. Coaches are expected to create an atmosphere which will promote group and individual growth both in athletic skills and the concepts of teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship.

    Coaches should have a thorough knowledge of all NCSSM and NCHSAA athletic policies and be responsible for their implementation for their team. Coaches work with the NCSSM athletics department to communicate expectations and information to student athletes on their teams. Coaches are required to be CPR certified and to complete NFHS coursework as required by the NCHSAA. Coaches will be required to drive school vehicles so they must have a clean driving record. CDL preferred.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    Knowledge of the sport of cheerleading, techniques, and ability to plan and facilitate practical activities.

    Minimum Education and Experience:

    High school diploma or equivalency.
