Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. We are a relatively new office serving patients with head and neck injuries in Coeur d'Alene and its surrounding communities. The Medical Receptionist performs a variety of duties including greeting patients and visitors, scheduling appointments, answering and routing calls, verifying insurance and demographic information, and collecting payments. They will ensure that patient charts are processed, documents are scanned, and paperwork is reconciled as needed. The reception area is to be kept clean with front doors locked and unlocked per business hours. They are also responsible for other related duties as assigned.
Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and visitors in a professional and courteous manner
- Answer phone calls and direct them appropriately
- Schedule patient appointments and follow-ups
- Verify patient insurance information
- Maintain electronic medical records accurately
- Assist with billing and coding tasks as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar role
-Familiarity with billing, ICD-10 Codes, as well as navigating insurance websites
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
- Proficiency in medical scheduling software (e.g., Epic, Tebra )
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality
- Strong communication skills and ability to handle phone systems effectively
