Head Coach (Major Sport) oversees all activities of a major athletic team. Plans and directs training of student athletes, and assesses individuals' abilities and skill level to determine appropriate team position. Being a Head Coach (Major Sport) analyzing opposition team performance and capabilities and determines game strategy. Assists players in reaching highest athletic potential possible through athletic training and leadership skills. Additionally, Head Coach (Major Sport) must be familiar with NCAA rules and regulations. Requires a bachelor's degree in the related area. Typically reports to a institutional officer. Head Coach (Major Sport) is a specialist on complex technical and business matters. Work is highly independent. May assume a team lead role for the work group. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Include the following: (other duties may be assigned)
- Coach weekly sports classes ranging from Basketball, Soccer, Swim, Tumbling, and More.
- Program curriculum of sports programs based on the themes and programs of each sport.
- Participate in daily instruction. This is an active role the requires both the planning and participation of activities.
- Lead the kids through a safe and positive practice.
- Coordinate progress reports, fill out, and distribute to parents.
- Be a leader in the space, ready to show up with a positive attitude and solution-oriented mindset.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Have experience coaching sports and working with kids.
- Ability to multi-task and establish priorities
- Ability to maintain organization in a changing environment.
- Exhibits initiative, responsibility, flexibility, and leadership.
- Ability to maintain flexible attitude and approach towards assignments and successfully operate under ambiguous guidelines.

Education and Experience:
- PE Certification or degree preferred but not required
