Head Coach (Minor Sport) oversees all activities of a minor athletic team. Plans and directs training of student athletes, and assesses individuals' abilities and skill level to determine appropriate team position. Being a Head Coach (Minor Sport) analyzes opposition team performance and capabilities and determines game strategy. Assists players in reaching highest athletic potential possible through athletic training and leadership skills. Additionally, Head Coach (Minor Sport) must be familiar with NCAA rules and regulations. Requires a bachelor's degree in the related area. Typically reports to a institutional officer. Head Coach (Minor Sport) is a specialist on complex technical and business matters. Work is highly independent. May assume a team lead role for the work group. A percentage of the tuition may be waived for the employee, for spouse and their dependent children from 50% to 100% contingent on length of service and specific program limitations. Full-time LCU employees are eligible to register during the fall and spring semesters as students for one undergraduate course (except for the Organizational Management degree program) for up to three semester hours without paying tuition.
Children of full-time employees of Lubbock Christian University may attend LCS grades K-12 at a tuition discount of 40%.
Other Christian universities award tuition discounts to eligible dependents of full-time LCU employees. Each Christian college or university administers their own discount program and establishes qualifying requirements at their discretion.
