Head Coach (Minor Sport) oversees all activities of a minor athletic team. Plans and directs training of student athletes, and assesses individuals' abilities and skill level to determine appropriate team position. Being a Head Coach (Minor Sport) analyzes opposition team performance and capabilities and determines game strategy. Assists players in reaching highest athletic potential possible through athletic training and leadership skills. Additionally, Head Coach (Minor Sport) must be familiar with NCAA rules and regulations. Requires a bachelor's degree in the related area. Typically reports to a institutional officer. Head Coach - Girls Varsity Lacrosse
Santa Fe Preparatory School is looking to hire a Head Coach for the girls varsity lacrosse team
for the Spring of 2024. The position includes all basic responsibilities involved with coaching an
interscholastic athletic team.
Primary Job Responsibilities Include: Plan and run daily afternoon practices for 1.5 to 2.5
hours each day, 4-5 days per week; oversee team for 15-20 games involving some travel,
including out of state, and weekend commitments; manage equipment and uniforms during the
season; and evaluate players after the season. Work closely in conjunction with the sub varsity
team.
Qualifications: Important to have a competent working knowledge of the game, strong
communication skills and ability to work well with high school students. Previous coaching
experience desired but not necessarily required. Must be fully vaccinated; agree to complete a
background check; complete simple certifications required by the Public Education Department
including concussion awareness, first aid/CPR/AED and safe sport training.
Season runs for 11 weeks from March to May (3/1 to 5/18).
