Ensures golf facilities are properly maintained. Being a Head Golf Professional coordinates marketing programs to promote the facility's services to potential customers and oversees member events and daily play. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Head Golf Professional requires an active Professional Golfers' Association (PGA) membership. Typically reports to a golf course general manager. The Head Golf Professional manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Responsibilities:
- Teach golf lessons to individuals and groups of all ages and skill levels
- Develop and implement golf instruction programs
- Conduct club fittings and provide equipment recommendations
- Organize and oversee golf tournaments, leagues, and events
- Provide excellent customer service to members and guests
- Promote a positive and welcoming atmosphere at the golf facility
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in golf instruction techniques
Qualifications:
- PGA or LPGA certification preferred
- Previous experience working as a Golf Professional or similar role
- Strong knowledge of golf rules, etiquette, and playing strategies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to educate and motivate students of all ages and skill levels
- Experience working with junior golfers is a plus
- Proficient in using technology for swing analysis and instruction
- Ability to manage behavior effectively in a teaching environment
- Lifeguard certification or experience is beneficial but not required
