Head Golf Professional is responsible for the overall day-to-day operations and services of the golf course, including the golf shop, tournaments, practice facilities, and cart fleet. Ensures golf facilities are properly maintained. Being a Head Golf Professional coordinates marketing programs to promote the facility's services to potential customers and oversees member events and daily play. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Head Golf Professional requires an active Professional Golfers' Association (PGA) membership. Typically reports to a golf course general manager. The Head Golf Professional manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Head Golf Professional typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Golf Professional to join our team. As a Golf Professional, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, teaching golf lessons, organizing golf events, and ensuring the overall satisfaction of our members and guests, managing the golf shop, ordering merchandise, and managing inventory.
Responsibilities:
- Teach golf lessons to individuals and groups of all ages and skill levels
- Develop and implement golf instruction programs
- Conduct club fittings and provide equipment recommendations
- Organize and oversee golf tournaments, leagues, and events
- Provide excellent customer service to members and guests
- Promote a positive and welcoming atmosphere at the golf facility
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in golf instruction techniques
Qualifications:
- PGA or LPGA certification preferred
- Previous experience working as a Golf Professional or similar role
- Strong knowledge of golf rules, etiquette, and playing strategies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to educate and motivate students of all ages and skill levels
- Experience working with junior golfers is a plus
- Proficient in using technology for swing analysis and instruction
- Ability to manage behavior effectively in a teaching environment
- Lifeguard certification or experience is beneficial but not required
