Head Golf Professional is responsible for the overall day-to-day operations and services of the golf course, including the golf shop, tournaments, practice facilities, and cart fleet. Ensures golf facilities are properly maintained. Being a Head Golf Professional coordinates marketing programs to promote the facility's services to potential customers and oversees member events and daily play. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Head Golf Professional requires an active Professional Golfers' Association (PGA) membership. Typically reports to a golf course general manager. The Head Golf Professional manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Responsible for managing all golf related activities including golf shop, outside services and clubhouse opening & closing. Will work in conjunction with the restaurant, clubhouse and grounds for the best golf experience possible for complete guest service. Is responsible for all merchandising, tee time scheduling, fee collections, tournament management, daily golf course management, lessons, practice range, golf carts and all golf related activities
Directly supervises Associates and managers in the outlet on assigned shift.
AGE and GAMING:
21 years of age or above. Non-gaming property. Due to responsibility of accessing and working with systems for redemption of offers and promotions, must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license issued by the Choctaw Gaming Commission.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma or GED is required. Two (2) years golf operations experience is required.
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Must possess a valid Driver’s License and good driving record – one or less moving violation within a 12 month period. Must be a member of the PGA of America. Must be able to teach golf lessons, golf clinics and Forecaddie classes. Must possess excellent communication skills both oral and written.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
Essential responsibilities include physical ability such as lift or maneuver at least forty (40) pounds, and standing/walking 100% of the shift. Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, climb, reach, twist, and grip throughout shift. Exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, as well as extreme cold and heat.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Must be willing to work in all types of weather conditions – hot or cold – wet or windy and other designated areas may be subjected to tobacco smoke.
