Head Nurse - Occupational Health jobs in Springdale, AR

Head Nurse - Occupational Health directs nursing service activities for occupational health services. Develops and conducts training programs to promote employee safety in the workplace. Being a Head Nurse - Occupational Health conducts regular inspections of facilities and equipment to identify any health or safety hazards. Maintains records, investigates accidents and injuries, prepares appropriate reports for OSHA, and ensures compliance with all occupational health, safety, and environmental rules and regulations. Additionally, Head Nurse - Occupational Health coordinates the procurement, review, and project management of contracts and service agreements with outside vendors. Requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Requires Registered Nurse (RN). Typically reports to a director. The Head Nurse - Occupational Health manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Head Nurse - Occupational Health typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required.   • The Director of Billing will oversee the billing for multiple locations in multiple states. This person will need to understand the fee schedule for all current states where we have clinics and they will have to learn the fee schedule for new states as we grow. This position is located in Springdale, AR and is a full time salaried position.

    Job Responsibilities

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    • Oversee the Billing and Collection department operations.
    • Interviews prospective employees and chooses the best applicant based on skills, knowledge, and abilities required for the job.
    • Trains and oversees employees involved in billing and collection functions.
    • Directs assigned tasks and provides assistance as needed.
    • Sets billing associate goals, responsibilities, and matrix measurements.
    • Company expert on fee schedules for any state where we have clinics.
    • Maintain and manage each states fee schedule in SYSTOC.
    • Work with state agencies to understand Workers Compensation billing and collections.
    • Create workplans for each employee in the billing department to standardize daily work practices.

    Job Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Oversees the process and workflow for the preparation of customer bills and invoices.
    • Oversees and/or ensures maintenance of client records related to invoicing and bill payment.
    • Reviews work of billing staff to ensure accuracy, resolving inconsistencies as needed.
    • Creates and provides a prioritized list of clients to be invoiced to team members.
    • Locates, or assists in location of, hard-to-reach clients.
    • Interprets monthly reports of invoicing and collection metrics and develop a plan to reduce AR aging.
    • Advises and coaches staff on proper, legal parameters for collections practices; ensures that all billing actions comply with company, local, state, and federal guidelines.
    • Provides customer support to customers with disputes or inquiries concerning invoices or billing processes.
    • Develop a plan to update customer profiles on a regular basis to ensure accurate billing processes.
    • Become a SYSTOC power user.
    • Review medical provider notes to ensure that providers are using the proper CPT codes.
    • Educate providers on CPT code requirements.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.


    Required Skills and Qualifications

    Required Skills/Abilities:

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
    • Extensive understanding of collection practices and laws.
    • Excellent interpersonal and supervisory skills.
    • Ability to act with discretion, tact, and professionalism in all situations.
    • Ability to maintain records, produce reports, and modify workplans based on the analysis of reports.
    • Extreme attention to detail.

    Education and Experience:

    • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree highly preferred.
    • At least five years of management-related experience leading a team of multiple employees required.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
    • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
