Head Nurse - Pediatrics directs nursing service activities for assigned pediatric patients. Delegates responsibilities to pediatric staff nurses; supervises preparation and maintenance of pediatric patient clinical records, and writes reports on pediatrics staff performance and services rendered. Being a Head Nurse - Pediatrics maintains pre-set inventory standards for solutions, supplies, medicines and equipment, and keeps track of narcotics. Requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Additionally, Head Nurse - Pediatrics requires Registered Nurse (RN). Typically reports to a director. The Head Nurse - Pediatrics manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Requirements
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent and relevant nursing education commensurate with applicable nursing license requirements.
Required Licensure/Certification:
Current Florida Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) in good standing.
Other Requirements:
Experience: Minimum 3 years of clinical experience. Pediatric direct patient care and/or phone triage experience strongly preferred.

Work Environment: Combination of medical and administrative office settings. Possible exposure to communicable diseases (including COVID-19), biohazards, and other conditions common in clinical settings.
Mental/Physical Requirements: Variety of walking, standing, sitting, bending, twisting, and reaching. Occasional need to lift/carry/move up to 25 pounds of equipment. Management of high-paced patient flow and related stressors.
