Head of Housekeeping jobs in Connecticut
Head of Housekeeping directs and coordinates the daily operations of a housekeeping services department to ensure offices, patient/guest rooms, and other specified areas are kept in a clean and orderly condition. Conducts inspections of facilities and recommends repairs and upgrades when needed. Being a Head of Housekeeping ensures compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations. May create quality standards and monitors the implementation. Additionally, Head of Housekeeping may require a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to top management. The Head of Housekeeping typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. To be a Head of Housekeeping typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. The DoubleTree by Hilton Bristol is looking for housekeepers to join our housekeeping team. This position will mainly be weekends so candidates must be available Friday, Saturday and Sunday. We are open 365 days a year, so candidates must be able to work Holidays. This is a part time position with the potential of being full time in the future.
Duties include:
- Make beds in guest rooms.
- Replenish supplies such as drinking glasses, writing supplies and bathroom supplies in guest rooms.
- Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, and locker rooms and other work areas.
- Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture and draperies.
- Dust furniture and equipment.
- Polish metalwork, such as fixtures and fittings.
- Wash walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, door panels, and sills.
- Empty wastebaskets, and empties and clean ashtrays.
- Transport trash and waste to disposal area.
- Ability to perform repetitive actions consistently
- Commitment to delivering a high level of customer service
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
- Flexibility to respond to a variety of work situations
- Ability to work on your own and as part of a team
