This role is responsible for developing and implementing the NA Talent strategy, in alignment with the Airbus group ‘Develop’ strategy, to support the business needs across the entire NA region. Primary Responsibilities: Design and deliver an effective talent strategy: 50 % Design an effective and comprehensive talent strategy that is in line with the overall Airbus NA HR strategy and the Airbus group ‘Develop’ Strategy. Collaborate closely with other departmental heads and HRBPs to address critical HR issues and deliver strategic solutions that will support recruitment, retention, and training. Create and execute HR policies and programs for sourcing, recruitment, onboarding, professional and leadership development, workforce development, Talent Management, Culture and DEI. Allocate department budget based on needs and priorities, manage vendor performance, and optimize the ‘make or buy’ strategy. Keep closely connected with the trends and best practices of the Talent management community in NA and with the Airbus group ‘Develop’ leadership and organization. Provide insights on Talent Management Industry best practices and establish benchmarks and key metrics to track performance. Offer key insights on how to promote diversity in senior executive teams. Keep up to date with the current trends and tools in HR technology to support Talent Management processes and analytics. Recruitment:  20 % Collaborate with HRBPs, to understand each business unit’s specific hiring needs and align the recruitment strategy accordingly. Design an effective employer value proposition in alignment with the NA Talent Strategy and the overall Airbus EVP in line with the company’s mission and core values. Design and implement candidate engagement surveys and performance reviews to gather feedback and make continuous improvements to the talent strategy. Career Development and Retention:  30 % Lead the development of learning programs, skills training, and performance management initiatives to address performance gaps and boost efficiency and effectiveness. Closely monitor talent processes and improvements to evaluate success. Design and implement employee engagement surveys and performance reviews to gather feedback and make continuous improvements to the talent strategy. Champion an employee-centric workplace culture by conducting regular assessments to improve work conditions and workflows. Plan and launch employee retention programs and initiatives to reduce turnover. Additional Responsibilities: Other Duties as Assigned:      Updates job knowledge by participating in relevant conferences and educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; and participating in HR related professional organizations. Supports other initiatives as assigned. Qualified Experience / Skills / Training: Education: Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field. Advanced degree (e.g. Masters in HR, MBA) is preferred. Experience: At least 15 years of experience in Human Resources, ideally in a managerial or senior leadership role, is required. At least 5 years of experience leading complex, cross border teams in a similar role is required. Past success in supporting both manufacturing and non-manufacturing environments required. Experience working in a large international organization is preferred. A second language (e.g. French, German, Spanish, etc.) preferred. Licensure/Certifications: SHRM or PHR Certification is preferred. Additional Talent Acquisition, PMP, or other certifications are a plus. Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities: Knowledge of U.S. Employment & Labor laws, HR best practices and talent management principles is required. Knowledge of the regional (NA) labor market is preferred. Knowledge of the Aerospace industry or a manufacturing-based industry is preferred. Strong leadership, organizational and project management skills with ability to multitask and prioritize workload is required. Demonstrated ability to foster relationships and engage with internal and external stakeholders, including vendors, subsidiaries and international colleagues; must work well in a team environment and have the ability to create alignment and influence others in a matrix environment. Strong customer service orientation and excellent interpersonal and listening skills Decisive with a strategic focus as well as an operational, detail oriented and compliance focussed perspective High degree of integrity, sincerity, confidence and self-awareness that appreciates, understands and effectively negotiates within and across other cultures Strong leadership, negotiation and facilitation skills, experienced in resolving conflicts Comfortable with ambiguity, adept at change management, and capable of working in cross-functional teams Ability to work directly with management, senior management, and group executives locally and internationally, building consensus to achieve required solutions. Communication Skills (Spoken, Written, Influencing, Proficiency in Other Languages): Fluency in written and spoken English is required. Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills. Technical Systems Proficiency: Proficiency with MS Office or Google Suite, Applicant Tracking, LMS and HRIS systems. Travel Required: Up to 30%, both domestic and international. Decision Making, Complexity: Final decision point for regional Talent matters with legal implications for the company under U.S. and Canadian employment law. Compliance-related decisions have a high degree of exposure to government-imposed fines and sanctions. Decisions must be taken with a high degree of coordination with regional and enterprise level stakeholders, requiring advanced stakeholder-management and negotiation skills.
