The Head Head Sommelier identifies and purchases wines for the organization. Manages the daily activities necessary for maintenance and promotion of the organization's wine collection. Being a Head Head Sommelier works with the kitchen staff to develop food and wine pairings. Monitors the conditions of the wine cellar, ensuring optimal storage. In addition, Head Head Sommelier recommends and serves wine to guests. May require an associate's degree or its equivalent. May possess or be working towards certification. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. Working as a Head Head Sommelier typically requires 3-5 years of related experience. Early Head Start Teacher

  • Purpose Statement: The EHS Teacher provides a safe, appropriate, and nurturing environment for children that meets all DHS and Head Start standards and regulations.

    Responsibilities:

    1. Act as the primary care provider for a small group of children.

    2. Provide for the care, safety and well-being of all children in the group in a nurturing manner.

    3. Plan and implement a program geared to infants and toddlers from The Creative Curriculum and assessment system and School Readiness Goals.

    4. Set up the physical environment to meet the changing needs of infants and toddlers.

    5. Demonstrate understanding of Creative Curriculum for Infants, Toddlers and competence in the completion and utilization of Teaching Strategies Gold Assessment.

    6. Provide a variety of appropriate material and activities which promote development, changing materials as needed.

    7. Demonstrate verbally and by role modeling the sound knowledge of good teaching practices and of child growth and development.

    8. Interact/talk frequently with infants and toddlers encouraging them to use language.

    9. Utilize a variety of appropriate books, stories, and songs with infants and toddlers to motivate them to listen, learn, love and respect books

    10. Making decisions at assigned times in the absence of the Center Coordinator during odd scheduling hours or during an emergency.

    11. Participate in staff meetings, discussions and on-going training regarding program, children and parents.

    12. Communicate daily with parents regarding the health and safety of children as well as sharing child development information.

    13. Assist in the supervision and training of volunteers, substitutes and parents.

    14. Observe and assess the development of infants and toddlers in conjunction with the parents.

    15. Keep current and accurate records on each child.

    16. Participate in transition meetings and ensure children are transitioned into the next placement when they reach their third birthday.

    17. Participate in the Child Development Associate (CDA) training program and/or AAS ECE Degree Program.

    18. Obtain the required Department of Human Services training hours.

    19. Ensure communication with appropriate staff when a disability is suspected.

    20. Participate in at least two home visits each program year.

    21. Assist with organizing the parent committee and attend monthly meetings.

    22. Monitor child attendance and provide family support to reduce absenteeism.

    23. Make weekly home visits to pregnant women and parents of newborns.

    24. Establish and maintain child files according to record keeping procedures.

    25. Act as an advocate for parents with agencies and school system.

    26. Participate in Family Team Meetings.

    27. Preserve the confidentiality and integrity of all program information.

    28. Attendance is an essential function of your day-to-day responsibility and commitment to the program.

    29. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor as this job description is in no way intended to include all responsibilities of the position, but rather to provide a general overview of what is expected of the position holder.

    Pay: $13.17 - $16.36 per hour
