    What You’ll Do
    We’re in search of a strong Head of Product looking for a unique opportunity as a key leader in strategy and direction of product management, new product development, product redesign and enhancements for ZAGG’s Productivity, Power, and Protection categories. This person will provide leadership and direction to Product Management teams, as well as Engineering, Product Development and Industrial Design teams. This position reports directly to the CEO, and works closely with other key stakeholders. This person will create and direct the strategic direction of specific product categories and is directly responsible for the success of product development and management.
    You will:
    • Overall strategic direction of Product Management & Development (New Product, Redesign, Engineering, ID, etc.)
    • Responsible for driving execution on PD/PM requirements such as financial modeling, market and competitive analysis, selling propositions, document control, and communication documents
    • Responsible for overall execution and quality of products within the specific product categories
    • Work in collaboration with the other business unit leaders (Marketing, Sales, Operations, etc),
    • Develop methods and procedures relating to product lifecycle including stage-gating, doc control, project scope, budgets and other deliverables
    • Responsible for setting expectations and driving results in the following areas: Project Management, Financial, Inventory, Marketing and Communications as it related to PD/PM activities
    • Lead meetings including new product concept meetings, design meetings, etc.
    • Approve the design the product strategy, as documented in a product plan, and a rolling 18 month roadmap for assigned categories and provide monthly updates for quarterly review
    • Product plans should include: product requirements, market analysis, competitive analysis, financial models, unique selling propositions, and associated communications documents
    • Attend weekly meetings with purchasing to consult on decisions, as required
    • Approve definition product requirements and delivery of PRDs with prioritized features and corresponding justification
    • Approve definitions of project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders
    • Serve as the internal and external evangelist for product category
    • Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the business and team
    • Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise direct reports as assigned
    • Conduct project post mortems and create a recommendation report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements
    • Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management
    • On-time launches – hitting agreed IOQ dates, quantity and quality targets
    • Liaise with vendors and suppliers for PD/PM needs
    • Must provide regular reporting to executive team and other stakeholders
    • Pricing and promotion – Approve all channel promotions
    • Research and analyze market conditions
    • Identify key competitor and consumer trends; be the company expert with regards to competition
    • Articulate market requirements and opportunities
    • Identify opportunities for product innovation and product enhancements
    • Approve strategy with the marketing communication team that defines go-to market strategy, helping them understand product positioning, key benefits and target customer
    • Effectively communicate project expectations and project progress and any material changes to schedule to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion
    • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations
    • Approve budget proposals, and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary Responsible for increasing revenue through new products and new distribution, collaboration with sales
    • Own Top Line revenue, gross margin percentages and pricing bands (online, direct and distribution) in assigned categories in collaboration with Sales
    • Approving load in quantities based on team recommendation and market research
    • Inventory management – Approve all inventory reserves and return decisions
    • Cost of good management – Approve the RFQ process for NPI’s and cost down initiatives
    • Pricing and promotion – Responsible for the establishment of wholesale pricing and any deviations
    What You’ll Need to be Successful
    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in areas like Business, Marketing, Communications or Engineering, Master preferred
    • 10 years of direct work experience in product management or product development in consumer products industry. Experience in product development of consumer electronics is highly preferred
    • 5-8 years’ experience of leadership experience within product development including senior level leadership required
    • 5 years’ experience in project management with a history of leading successful projects on time and under budget with desired results
    • 5 years’ experience leading product management and engineering teams highly preferred
    • 5 years’ experience in leading cross functional teams (Ops, Sales, Marketing, Finance, etc.) highly preferred
    • Physically able to participate in training sessions, presentations, and meetings
    • Some travel may be required for the purpose of meeting with channel partners retail accounts, manufacturing partners, or off-site personnel/management
    • Up to 30% travel may be required. Domestic and international travel.
