This is a Part-Time position and the hours will primarily be 1pm-6pm, Monday thru Friday.

Summary/Objective

The Teller is responsible for greeting and welcoming members in a courteous, professional, and timely manner and performs accurate and efficient transaction for all members while promoting a full range of credit union products and services.

Essential Job Duties

1. In a friendly, cooperative, and courteous manner, receive share drafts/checks and cash for deposit to accounts, verify amounts, examine share drafts/checks for proper endorsement, and enter deposits into computer records. Also, receive consumer loan, home loan and other payments, and ensure accuracy when posting to the computer.
2. Assist with mail or email transactions and fill in at other branches as needed. Ensure that teller station is properly stocked with forms, supplies, brochures, etc. and maintain a clean and sanitized work area
3. Count, check and package coins and currency. Check night depository and record proper information according to credit union procedures.
4. Ability to cash share drafts/checks and process withdrawals; pay out money after verification of signatures and member balances and generate member receipts.
5. Maintain an up-to-date and comprehensive knowledge on all credit union products and services that are handled or promoted by tellers as well as all related policies, procedures, and rules and regulations, including robbery procedures.
6. Promote, explain, issue and cross-sell other credit union services such as electronic services, debit and credit cards, safe deposit boxes and loan products. Makes referrals to the Gulf Investment Representative when applicable.
7. Place holds on accounts for uncollected funds.
8. Balance cash drawer at the end of the shift and compare totaled amounts to computer generated balance sheet. Research and resolve any discrepancies and report any discrepancy to the supervisor as needed.

6. Intermediate mathematical skills required (calculations and concepts involving decimals, percentages, fractions, etc.).
7. Intermediate equipment skills required (telephone, fax machine, copy equipment, use of computer, system software, internet, electronic mail, spreadsheets, data processing, etc.)
8. Work requires sound decision-making skills while following specific rules, regulations, and procedures.
9. Act as a liaison between members and the credit union and must provide prompt, accurate and efficient transaction for all members.
