POSITION SUMMARY: The Head Athletic Trainer fulfills a vital role in the Academy for Classical Education (ACE)'s athletic department as a valuable member of the sports medicine team. As the Head Athletic trainer, you will provide medical coverage to multiple athletic teams ensuring that the quality of treatment and outcomes set the standard for sports medical care.

This is a full-time, 12-month, exempt position with benefits. Hours are based on the competition and treatment schedules and will fluctuate. Start date is July 1, 2024.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Provides Athletic Training services to ACE student-athletes grades 6-12, including evaluation, prevention, immediate care, rehabilitation, treatment and referrals under the supervision of the team physician.
• Provides Athletic Training coverage to both Jr. High (middle school) and high school home events.
• Advocates for the health and safety of student-athletes of ACE and communicates with parents, coaches, teachers and administrators as needed or requested to ensure the highest standard of care and support across the school system.
• Documents and maintains relevant medical records.
• Manages the athletic training room and/or attends practices and games per game/event schedules.
• Manages the maintenance and cleaning of equipment, ordering supplies, and taking inventory of all equipment.
• Maintains all relevant training and certifications such as, but not limited to, bloodborne pathogens, CPR & First aid for the professional rescuer.
• Ability to work long hours, holidays, and weekends in support of our student-athletes.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in athletic training, master's preferred
• NATA-BOC Certified and Georgia Licensed or eligible for GA state licensure
• Certified First Aid / CPR / AED
• A positive energy and passion to provide outstanding medical treatment to student-athletes as a part of the team of medical providers for ACE.
• Working knowledge and experience working with a variety of athletic teams.
• Excellent organizational, time management and problem-solving skills.
