    Qualifications

    • AAS Degree in Early Childhood Education/Child Development or closely related field; BS Degree preferable
    • Three years’ experience in Infant/Toddler Child Care with the knowledge of the principles of child health, safety, and nutrition, adult learning and family dynamics
    • Experience in instructing adults
    • Candidate with Fluency (Read, Write, Speak) in English/Spanish *Preferred

    Responsibilities/Duties

    Providing support services in the Early Head Start (EHS) Home Visiting Program as a Home Visitor.
    To provide early, continuous, intensive and comprehensive child development services to children, birth to age three that honor their unique characteristics enhancing their physical, social, emotional and intellectual development. Provide family support services and link families with appropriate agencies and services that enable parents to fulfill their roles as parents and to move toward self-sufficiency.     Luzerne County Head Start, Inc. requires staff to possess current, valid Background Clearances (3) per state/federal regulations. Position will require record check approval of driving record by LCHS Insurance Provider, as this position is considered a designated position requiring driving as an essential job function. Proof of Degree/Certification and Experience Required to meet the Qualifications for position.

    Full Time/Full Year (12 mos) positions - in Greather Hazleton and Wilkes-Barre Areas
    Rate of Pay: $21.09/hr Base Salary,
    For those who possess Bilingual Abilities (Eng/Spanish) – 5% additional pay

    $1,000 Sign-On Bonus
