Health and Safety Administrator is responsible for identifying hazardous workplace conditions. Takes samples and measurements of hazardous materials, and coordinates the removal of physical, biological and chemical hazards. Being a Health and Safety Administrator trains employees on safety, company policies and procedures, and regulations pertaining to employee safety. Ensures compliance with all applicable federal and state health and safety regulations and ensures necessary records are maintained and prepared according to established guidelines. Additionally, Health and Safety Administrator participates in Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) inspections, providing inspectors with appropriate documents and identifying safety measures. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a supervisor. To be a Health and Safety Administrator typically requires 0-2 years of related experience.   • SUMMARY: The Safety Coordinator is responsible for all safety protocols at all Company locations, to organize safety training for employees, file and moritor all Workers Comp claims, work with broker and carriers risk management personnel, liaison with treating physicians and help operations compy with required accommodations


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Visit all Company locations to conduct safety training for personnel and inspections on facilities, equipment and materials
    • Evaluate and assess safety procedures and recommend to management any alterations or changes in safety procedures and policies
    • Ensure compliance with all regulatory bodies, such as OSHA, CalOSHA, DOT, DOL; administer the DOL pull notice program; track special license (class A & B) and assist drivers in scheduling required physicals
    • Prepare and conduct regular safety training sessions for employees; conduct safety training for temp employees when needed; coordinate all outside safety training
    • Build a safety training program in Paycom as part of all new hires onboarding process
    • Investigate all accidents, incidents and near-miss events; conduct post accident, incident and near-miss training; analyze accidents and evaluate, train and implement options to avoid future accidents, incidents or near misses
    • Administer Company Safety Programs; lead Safety Committees in all Company locations
    • Report and monitor all Workers Comp claims; participant in quarterly loss reviews; take injured workers (Santa Paula & Oxnard if not trauma) to industrial doctor for first treatment
    • Update Monthly “Accident Free Days” report; update monthly loss report recaps
    • Maintain OSHA log; post log as required by law; work with all locations to comply with OSHA reporting requirement.
    • Maintain accommodation log; participate in,document and track all interactive accommodations for Workers Comp accidents and incidents
    • Maintain and revise Company Safety Guide and IIPP document as necessary
    • Other projects or tasks assigned by HR Manager or management as needed

    QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

    • EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

    Prefer college degree, preferably in environmental health and safety, or equivalent experience; must have at least 2 years of experience in Safety Role; OSHA certification or equivalent; LSP Certification preferred; member of ASSP, NASP or equivalent preferred; possess a valid California drivers license, maintain a clean DMV record and is able to be insured by carrier


    • SKILLS and ABILITIES:

    Must be fluent in English and Spanish, speaking, reading and writing; computer literate in Microsoft Office; must have complete knowledge of safety regulations and practices; must have excellent verbal and written communications; ability to train, influence and motivate coworkers; valid Driver’s license and be insurable
