Health and Safety Administrator jobs in San Diego, CA

Health and Safety Administrator is responsible for identifying hazardous workplace conditions. Takes samples and measurements of hazardous materials, and coordinates the removal of physical, biological and chemical hazards. Being a Health and Safety Administrator trains employees on safety, company policies and procedures, and regulations pertaining to employee safety. Ensures compliance with all applicable federal and state health and safety regulations and ensures necessary records are maintained and prepared according to established guidelines. Additionally, Health and Safety Administrator participates in Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) inspections, providing inspectors with appropriate documents and identifying safety measures. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a supervisor. To be a Health and Safety Administrator typically requires 0-2 years of related experience.     We are looking for qualified Site Safety and Health Officers. Our ideal candidate will be someone with extensive safety experience in large projects. See details below!


    Must have qualifications:

    • CHST or STS, OHST, ASP, CSP (ideal but not required)
    • Min. of 5 years Safety Management experience
    • An average of at least 24 hours of formal safety training each year for the past 5 years
    • Training for competent person status in the following areas: Excavation, Fall protection, Scaffolding, Confined Space, Electrical Installations/ lock out-tag out

    Strong Candidates Will Be:

    • Organized and detail oriented
    • Able to manage and follow-through on multiple job tasks
    • A good communicator with strong written and verbal skills
    • have reliable transportation/able to work out of town or state if necessary
    • Able to utilize Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, PDF
    • Knowledge of regulatory standards for construction, general industry, Cal OSHA, FED OSHA,
