Health and Safety Administrator is responsible for identifying hazardous workplace conditions. Takes samples and measurements of hazardous materials, and coordinates the removal of physical, biological and chemical hazards. Being a Health and Safety Administrator trains employees on safety, company policies and procedures, and regulations pertaining to employee safety. Ensures compliance with all applicable federal and state health and safety regulations and ensures necessary records are maintained and prepared according to established guidelines. Additionally, Health and Safety Administrator participates in Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) inspections, providing inspectors with appropriate documents and identifying safety measures. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a supervisor. To be a Health and Safety Administrator typically requires 0-2 years of related experience.     Job Summary

    The Safety and Health Administrator provides safety support to the UGI southwest gas division operations and back office support. This role requires daily interaction with frontline employees and Operations leadership to address safety concerns, develop safety policies, conduct incident investigations, and enhance UGI’s safety culture. The position is provided with a company vehicle to conduct job site visits and conduct daily travel to the regional offices the role supports. Work with a team of safety professionals to further safety at UGI.

    Duties and Responsibilities
    • Write/review/update Company safety and health policies with Manager oversight.  Assist with employee’s communication and training of UGI policies.
    • Coach, mentor, and support assigned geographical territory by assisting in safety committees, incident investigations, safety communications and on average 6-8 field visits per month.
    • Assist in special S&H projects aimed at developing/updating safety management system elements within UGI.
    • Work with other functional areas within UGI (non- operations).
    • Perform other duties as requested.
    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
    • OSHA/DOT regulations.
    • Construction/Utility industry knowledge.
    • Technical knowledge of health and safety regulations, OSHA rules, ability to translate technical regulatory requirements into operational compliance programs.
    • Train, Present, Speak in front of groups.
    • Hazard recognition & resolution.
    • Effective at operating in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
    • Interpersonal skills, ability to interact with people on many levels.
    • Excellent organizational skills with an ability to juggle multiple tasks to effectively achieve results.
    Education and Experience
    • Bachelor's degree in Safety or in technical field or combined equivalent of education and experience.
    • Approximately 3 years of experience in safety or in gas, electric utility/pipeline/transmission or construction safety.
    • Desired: CSP, CUSP, CHST
    • Computer literate with intermediate knowledge of MS Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Share Point and Outlook.
