Health and Safety Manager monitors the removal of physical, biological and chemical hazards, and training of employees on safety policies, procedures, and regulations. Verifies compliance with health and safety regulations and ensures all necessary records are maintained and prepared according to established guidelines. Being a Health and Safety Manager manages the participation in Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) inspections, providing inspectors with appropriate documents and identifying safety measures. Ensures projects are completed on time and within budget. Additionally, Health and Safety Manager acts as advisor to health and safety administration team regarding projects, tasks, and operations. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a Manager or Head of a Unit/Department. The Health and Safety Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Health and Safety Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     THE POSITION

    Staccato seeks an Environmental Health and Safety Manager to join our growing team. You will implement policies to ensure a safe and healthy work environment in this role. This position will collaborate closely with operations, risk management, and insurance teams and support in a shared services environment across Staccato’s subsidiaries. This role reports to the Director of People Operations. 

    Requirements

     RESPONSIBILITIES

    · Daily oversight of cross-entities EHS priorities, policies and procedures, risk identification, remediation, and audit coordination

    · Inspects the facility to identify safety, health, and environmental risks.

    · Develops and implements inspection policies and procedures, as well as a schedule of routine inspections.

    · Develops health and safety procedures for all areas of the company.

    · Prepares and schedules training to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other relevant topics.

    · Monitors compliance with safety procedures and manages corrective actions.

    · Responsible for incident investigation, incident management, reporting, and tracking process.

    · Draft inspection reports to document inspection findings.

    · Ensures that material safety data sheets are maintained and readily accessible when needed.

    · Maintains records of discharge of or employee exposure to hazardous waste and pollutants, as required.

    · Guides, directs, and participates in all aspects of EHS risk assessment and the company’s certifications (ISO standards, EPA, TCEQ)

    · Performs other related duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    · A bachelor’s degree in environmental safety, occupational safety and health, or a related field is required.

    · Five years of related experience is preferred. (manufacturing a plus)

    · Extensive knowledge of environmental regulations and policies.

    · Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

    · Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    · Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

    · Proficient in technology and equipment used in environmental inspections.

    · Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

    · Physically able to conduct inspections and carry equipment used for inspections.

    · Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

    · Must be able to lift to 25 pounds at a time.
