Your day.

As a Supervisor in Public Safety, you need to know how to:

• Serve as a resource while on shift for department, house supervisor, AOC, etc. assisting with decision-making, department functions, and staffing.
  


• Assist with interviewing, hiring, orientating, scheduling, training, evaluating, disciplining, coaching, evaluating, and mentoring staff.
  


• Perform staffing daily assignments to ensure a comprehensive skill mix and acuity level and ensures productivity goals are met.



• Manage facility access.



• Assist in payroll processes as directed by the manager.



• Serve as a mentor and role model for staff and students in the areas of quality care, service and professionalism.



• In coordination with the Unit Manager assist in planning and actively participate in; unit/department meetings, staff development, leadership development, educational events and needs assessments of the staff.

Your experience.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, required.



• Valid Montana driver’s license, proof of insurability, and clean driving record, required.



• Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association, required.



• Current certifications for ASP tactical baton, handcuffs, and pepper spray, required.



• Eligibility to qualify for a valid Unarmed Security Officers license, preferred.
