Health and Safety Supervisor supervises the identification and remediation of hazardous workplace conditions. Oversees the measurement and sampling of hazardous materials, and any removal of physical, biological and chemical hazards. Being a Health and Safety Supervisor investigates, analyzes, and reports on any accidents or unsafe events and suggests remedial and preventative actions. Develops a safety conscious culture by providing workforce education on first aid, emergency/safety procedures and regulations. Additionally, Health and Safety Supervisor ensures all necessary records are maintained and are in compliance with all applicable federal and state health and safety regulations. Participates in Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) inspections, providing inspectors with appropriate documents and identifying safety measures. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a Manager. The Health and Safety Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Health and Safety Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.   • Position Summary:

    Under the general guidance of the Regional HSE Supervisor, the Safety Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and providing new hire orientation, safety training, travel to and assessment of different job sites, and crew support. The incumbent will monitor safety of employees and equipment and make recommendations for proactive or corrective actions. The Safety Supervisor is responsible for safety inspections and investigations. The incumbent will initiate and promote safe, healthy, productive and accident free workplace by establishing and promoting Delta Constructors’ Safety policies and work procedures. This position is responsible for implementation of Safety procedures and ensure company’s compliance with regulations, laws and industry standards. HSE Supervisors are responsible for communicating with project management staff and clients on all safety, environmental and health issues and coordinating assignments and supporting other HSE staff, including HSE Specialists/Technicians and administrative staff.


    Essential Job Functions:

    • Gives instruction to onsite Safety Specialists for day-to-day activities, and in the effort to complete work at the site.
    • Provides guidance and support to project Management Team or Craft employees for maintaining a safe working environment.
    • Responds to concerns and requests for information from HSE or Management
    • Investigates incidents thoroughly, using root cause analysis and recommends solutions to prevent future
    • Recommends revisions to company HSE procedures as
    • Communicates and supports project personnel on safety processes and any changes to policies that may affect project operations.
    • Works with the HSE team and management to create and/or update safety training programs or work
    • Conducts HSE training, orientation, pre-hire testing and maintains training
    • Inspects jobsites for potentially hazardous conditions or health and environmental concerns; performs safety audits.
    • Performs periodic site inspections, both announced and unannounced to include the creation of action items. Records data from inspections, follows up on actions as needed and provides feedback.
    • Reviews, addresses, proposes and/or resolves all health and safety concerns (i.e., corrective actions, communicating new policies, providing trend analyses, etc.).
    • Coordinates with HSE team and HR on Worker’s Compensation claims, medical treatments, modified duty or return to work activities.
    • Maintains safety files and records both electronic and hard Assists management in determining OSHA status of incidents.
    • Creates and maintains a relationship with the Client safety representatives as
    • Maintains Safety Data Sheets (SDS), Physical Agent Data Sheets (PADS). Inventories for work sites and shops, coordinates with Materials department and ensures inventory and catalog documents are current.
    • Provides guidance to field supervisors in reporting incidents and gathering
    • Facilitates onsite hazard analyses/assessments of project scopes of work, implements and updates JHAs for project.
    • Supports field supervisors and craft in daily toolbox
    • Supports project management and field supervisors in development of weekly safety meetings to include HSE statistics for the project and trend Facilitates safety meetings as needed or requested by project management.
    • Prepares and presents weekly HSE data at weekly meeting with clients and Delta project management
    • Other job-related duties as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Valid Driver License and clean driving record
    • At least 7 years directly related safety experience involving multiple disciplines (maintenance, construction, shop operations, etc.), where 100% of the position’s day-to-day job functions entailed safety, health, or environmental protection.
    • At least 3 years of experience in a supervisory position, managing subordinate personnel (direct reports).
    • Previous experience working rotational positions in remote

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

    • Working knowledge of OSHA requirements (OSHA 500-preferred)
    • Working knowledge of craft disciplines and industrial energy industry terms and processes
    • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
    • Ability to gather and analyze information skillfully
    • Ability to work well in group problem solving situations
    • Ability to use reason even when dealing with emotional topics
    • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
    • Ability to treat people with respect; keep commitments; inspire the trust of others; work with integrity and ethics; and upholds organizational values.
    • Ability to apply professionalism at all times; react well under pressure; accept responsibility for own actions
    • Proficient in the use of Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Egnyte and other office related programs such as an electronic HSE Enterprise System.

    Education:

    • High School Diploma, or equivalent
    • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in safety related field, preferred

    (Ten years field experience with HSE training and craft skills may be considered in lieu of Education)

    Required Training & Certificates:

    • NSTC Card
    • OSHA Authorized Instructor – Construction and/or General Industry (ability to obtain within one year)
    • Current H2S Certification, or ability to obtain upon hire
    • Attends training sessions, seminars and appropriate educational classes required by department
    • Computer skills commensurate with job requirements
    • Current First Aid/CPR/AED
    • TapRooT® Root Cause Analysis training, or ability to obtain upon hire
