Health and Safety Supervisor supervises the identification and remediation of hazardous workplace conditions. Oversees the measurement and sampling of hazardous materials, and any removal of physical, biological and chemical hazards. Being a Health and Safety Supervisor investigates, analyzes, and reports on any accidents or unsafe events and suggests remedial and preventative actions. Develops a safety conscious culture by providing workforce education on first aid, emergency/safety procedures and regulations. Additionally, Health and Safety Supervisor ensures all necessary records are maintained and are in compliance with all applicable federal and state health and safety regulations. Participates in Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) inspections, providing inspectors with appropriate documents and identifying safety measures. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a Manager. The Health and Safety Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Health and Safety Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Sun River Health is currently seeking a full-time Concierge/Safety to join our team at our Amityville site.
A Concierge/ Safety is responsible for providing patient centered care and facilitating patient access to services in a pleasant, knowledgeable efficient manner, communication with a diverse population using well-developed interpersonal skills. This staff member plays an integral role in the medical care team as the access point for patients to receive care. She/he will perform their job duties in compliance with systems and job specific standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assists with daily reception activities and ensures that all processes needed for patient services are initiated
Communicates effectively with team members and patients on all aspects of service
Distributes materials to patients, including the patient satisfaction cards, patient rights and other appropriate materials.
Assists with patient flow during registration.
Supports staff and patient safety throughout the health center.
Provide safety training and orientation to all staff annually.
Responds to site emergencies and all Sun River Health codes, acts as Fire/Safety Warden.
Minimum Education Requirement: High School diploma/ GED
Minimum Work Related Experience: 2-4 years
Preferred Specialized Skills and Knowledge: Bilingual in both English and Spanish (orally & written)
Hourly Range: $16.00-$18.50/hour
