Health Educator is responsible for developing and designing health education programs meant to increase community awareness and knowledge. Conducts needs assessments and keeps up-to-date on changes in health care technology to keep program material current. Being a Health Educator develops, coordinates, and disseminates educational resources and materials. May provide health education outreach and consultation. Additionally, Health Educator requires a bachelor's degree in a related area. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Health Educator work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project.   • Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Contribute to developing and disseminating project related awareness messages and materials
    • Provide opportunities for screening and testing for HIV and viral hepatitis.
    • Visit community centers and other organizations distributing literature related to the project to establish community linkages specific to the project.
    • Track all referral follow-ups for outcome reports utilizing project forms and documentation standards.

    Requirements:

    • At least 2 years experience working in social services, networking with social service agencies, or working with at risk populations in the community or schools.
    • Traveling required within the service area.
    • Current tx driver’s license, reliable transportation, & liability insurance.

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: $31,200.00 per year
