Seeking a full-time organized, detailed oriented, pragmatic, and collaborative Public Health Educator to join the community health team based in either our Wexford or Mecosta County Office.
General Responsibilities
· Under general supervision and in collaboration with the Community Health Division and Health Education team, this position will support community engagement to promote healthy lifestyles around topics including but not limited to: chronic disease prevention, tobacco cessation, diabetes prevention, nutrition, physical activity, and other general health/wellness topics as appropriate.
· Responsible for program planning, implementation, and evaluation with a variety of age groups and demographics, including 1:1 direct service and/or group/classroom education.
· Some program data entry required using various software applications including Electronic Health Record.
· Programming includes evidence-based community education and outreach specific to chronic disease and general health education outreach and programming on a variety of health topics.
· This position may provide programming across multiple counties.
Minimum Requirements
· Bachelor's Degree in Health education or public health related degree.
· Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) credential preferred.
· Must have excellent interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to work effectively with the public and other employees on projects requiring a team approach.
· Strong written & oral communication & strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to engage with diverse groups required.
· Basic understanding of computer technology required.
· Experience in community level programming or collaborative partnership work preferred.
