Health Educator is responsible for developing and designing health education programs meant to increase community awareness and knowledge. Conducts needs assessments and keeps up-to-date on changes in health care technology to keep program material current. Being a Health Educator develops, coordinates, and disseminates educational resources and materials. May provide health education outreach and consultation. Additionally, Health Educator requires a bachelor's degree in a related area. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Health Educator work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project.     Your Role With Us:

    The Health Educator provides individualized and group education and services to patients, families and community members on selected health topics. Interacts positively with individuals, families, and large community groups in the course of delivering services. Applies educational principles and process to assess, plan, deliver and evaluate education and services. Participates in planning, staffing, and evaluating outcomes of health promotion and health education classes and events.

    Background/Expertise:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in health-education, community or public health, nursing, nutrition or health and wellness related field
    • One (1) year experience providing health education/instruction required.
    • Relevant specialty certification(s) and membership in related professional organization(s) is desired.
    • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
