Health Educator is responsible for developing and designing health education programs meant to increase community awareness and knowledge. Conducts needs assessments and keeps up-to-date on changes in health care technology to keep program material current. Being a Health Educator develops, coordinates, and disseminates educational resources and materials. May provide health education outreach and consultation. Additionally, Health Educator requires a bachelor's degree in a related area. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Health Educator work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Nobles County Community Services - Health Educator
Purpose: Plan and implement the Statewide Health Improvement Partnership (SHIP) deliverables and promote an understanding of policy, systems, and environmental change that will improve the public’s health and quality of life. Promote healthy lifestyles, close the gap of health inequity, and prevent disease with a variety of target groups. This includes community assessing, organizing, planning, and educating the community to make recommended changes, and evaluation of specific community-driven change that affects health behaviors.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or Community Health Education. Bilingual applicants are encouraged to apply.
Proficiency in a second language may be eligible for an extra $1.00 per hour. Excellent Benefit package.
