Provide support and arrange educational presentations to patients/families/others. Responsible for facilitation of support and/or networking groups and helping patients connect with one another. Serves as a “host” for support group meetings. Expectations include, but are not limited to, creating and presenting education topics, introducing guest speakers, providing introductory remarks that include a brief overview, participating in the program, fielding questions and answers, providing feedback to the Coordinator on the process and content of the meeting.
Provides direct and indirect patient care in a therapeutic manner focusing on a multidisciplinary approach. Assumes responsibility and accountability for individual nursing practice and determines the appropriate delegation of tasks consistent with the nurses obligation to provide optimum patient care.
Education: Insert required education
- ASN required, BSN preferred.
Licensure & Certifications:
- RN licensure required
- BLS required
Experience:
- Medical-Surgical hospital experience preferred.
- 1 year of bariatric experience preferred.

- Communicates effectively with participants, peers and supervisor utilizing effective communication, conflict resolution and problem solving that promotes an environment of cooperation.
- Reports concerns regarding content, equipment or other related issues to the program Coordinator to allow for continuous improvement of the program.
- Sets up, conducts and cleans up the conference room, equipment and other other sites used. May need to travel to various facilities to cover support groups.
- Maintains responsibility for continued educational growth and maintaining knowledge in the specialty in order to maintain the knowledge and skills necessary to deliver safe, effective instruction.
