Health Informatics Director jobs in San Antonio, TX

Health Informatics Director directs an organization's clinical biostatistics or health informatics department. Oversees the analysis, management and performance of health information data to aid patient care. Being a Health Informatics Director monitors latest software and technology to keep processes up-to-date and efficient. Communicates with other departments and team members to identify new sources of data, ensure data is used effectively, and establish new initiatives. Additionally, Health Informatics Director requires a master's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Health Informatics Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Health Informatics Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. Health Informatics Specialist I

  • Performs routine health informatics work, which involves gathering, storing, analyzing, interpreting, exchanging, and managing patient data; and assisting in developing the electronic health record (EHR)

     EDUCATION/TRAINING EXPERIENCE

    •  High school diploma or equivalent
    • Five years’ experience of health information management or other relevant experience
    • Knowledge of and understanding of clinical workflows
    • Healthcare HIM experience in acute care or ambulatory settings
    • Possess excellent time management, decision making and problem-solving skills

    Duties

    •  Ensures confidentiality, security, and integrity of data
    • ·Responsible for managing new user accounts
    •  Responsible for managing multiple duplicate records that result in inconsistencies in the EHR
    • ·Ability to gather and analyze data and facts, and to devise solutions to problems
    • ·Ability to communicate processes and procedures clearly and effectively to others
    • ·Conducts daily monitoring of ticket queues to ensure internal workflows are operating correctly
    •  Develops health information processes that support the collection, sharing, standardization and integration of healthcare data
    • ·Provides analytics and support to program teams as requested in the areas of data preparation, data analysis using applicable statistical methods, protocols, report and responses to informatics inquiries
    • ·Serves as a liaison between program areas, business, clinical staff, and IT staff to support development and implementation of the EHR
    • ·Assists in the design and implementation of the EHR and programs
    • ·Administer program-specific data sets, including responsibilities related to data quality, data maintenance and archiving, analysis, documentation, and reporting as needed
    • ·Works under stress and in situations that demand patience, stamina, endurance, and tact while providing impeccable service
