Prairie Ridge Health is looking for a team member to join our team in the role of Clinical Informatics Specialist. The position is 0.8-1.0 FTE (32-40 hours per week) working primarily Monday - Friday. This position is located onsite.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Clinical Informatics Specialist position seamlessly connects information technology (IT) resources to clinical staff processes and defined procedures. This position is responsible for continuously researching the needs of the patient care staff team then plans, designs, develops, communicates, implements, maintains, and further evaluates clinical information system needs to provide efficient and easy to use IT solutions. Duties include analyzing complex clinical operations and structure processes to facilitate decision making regarding clinical systems; utilizing the knowledge and skills of clinical practice to determine clinical functions that are suitable for computer applications; and ensuring information systems are consistent with professional standards of practice. The Clinical Informatics Specialist position is responsible for providing support and direction to Clinical, medical staff, house staff, and other patient care areas. The Clinical Informatics Specialist maintains accountability for the integrity and ongoing support of clinical information systems, including the electronic medical record. The best measure of success is an ever increased end-user buy-in of available IT tools and increased performance in clinical core measures. The individual in this position must demonstrate excellent time management, communication, project facilitation skills and leadership skills as evidenced by respect from teammates and the reputation of a role model in the facility.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS/LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION
Shift: Monday - Friday, daytime hours. Some occasional evening and weekend hours for special projects of software updates. No holidays. This position is onsite.
