Qualifications:

• (BSN) Bachelor's degree in nursing required.

• Master's degree in Nursing, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred.

• 3 years of experience in emergency services.

• 3 years of experience in a leadership role preferred.

• Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state of practice, in accordance with law and regulation.

• (ACLS) Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification required.

• (PALS) Pediatric Advanced Life Support or (ENPC) Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course certification required.

• (BLS) Basic Life Support certification required.

Position Details:

The role of the Director of Free Standing Emergency Services is vital for ensuring the delivery of consistent high-quality patient care in the Emergency Department. In this position, you will have the opportunity to oversee ancillary departments such as Imaging, Lab, Admitting, Security, Environmental Services, and Support Services. Your main responsibilities will include identifying and addressing any real or potential problems affecting the service, implementing effective solutions, and maintaining open communication throughout the process. Active participation in service, departmental, and hospital-wide committees will be essential to provide ongoing representation and stay updated on organizational matters. Moreover, you will play a key role in advancing the patient experience agenda by coaching and providing feedback to subordinates, facilitating their professional development, and documenting their job performance. Adhering to all Human Resource policies and effectively communicating departmental and organizational information will be crucial. Building strong relationships and networks will be important for delivering on organizational and department goals. You will also be involved in employee and patient rounding, identifying and mentoring potential future leaders. Additionally, you will be responsible for enforcing standards of emergency department care, developing compliance processes, and overseeing an ongoing emergency services program aligned with the hospital's mission. Monitoring compliance with regulations and policies for patient services and personnel safety, as well as overseeing a Performance Improvement (PI) program, will be part of your duties. Your role will also involve ensuring operational excellence in the department, following Hospital Exposure Control Plans, and performing any other assigned duties.
