Cardinal Health™ Aero‑Med™ manufactures and distributes more than 50 million specimen collection kits annually to hospitals, reference labs and testing organizations.

    The Director of Manufacturing Operations is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a non-sterile manufacturing site, including production planning, scheduling, and resource allocation. As the site leader, you will be responsible for strategic oversight and leadership inclusive of the cost and efficiency of production as well as maintenance activities including process improvement, supply chain management, quality assurance, employee safety and engagement, and environmental commitment. This individual will identify and activate cost reduction and process improvement projects for their site to ensure efficiency of operations and cost effectiveness. In this role you will lead cross functional teams to support good manufacturing practices as well as implement performance management techniques to successfully meet and exceed our operational, customer, employee, and organizational long-term commitments.

    Accountabilities

    • Oversees all assembly, production, and warehouse operations at a single site and develops and implements site specific procedures to optimize resources and achieve volume, timeliness, reliability, and safety standards.
    • Oversees the warehouse operations inclusive of the receiving, handling, storing, picking, packing, and shipping activities of the warehouse to support the production of the site. Responsible for inventory accuracy, flow, and availability of products to ensure maximum operating efficiencies.
    • Adapt and develop people, culture, and operation to ensure alignment with business unit objectives and customer requirements.
    • Ensures an adequate number of resources are available to support production volume. Evaluates, adjusts, and manages workforce planning/ staffing levels based on business unit insights, orders, and site demand.
    • Develops and works to achieve site and business unit specific goals and budgets inclusive of the attainment of production goals and KPI’s, strategic initiatives, headcount, and quality standards.
    • Provides support and input to Senior Leadership in the establishment of performance objectives and strategies to ensure the achievement of business unit forecasts while maintaining a high-level efficiency and quality at the site.
    • Assesses the site for inefficiencies and addresses through the continuous improvement of current and potential processes, methods, etc.
    • Provides training to all new and existing employees to ensure an understanding of processes, procedures, and proper operation of equipment.
    • Ensures adherence to all quality and regulatory standard operating procedures through collaboration with the quality team to identify and mitigate quality risk factors.
    • Participate in and respond to regulatory agency and/or internal audits or self-inspections.
    • Acts as a strategic partner and collaborates cross-functionally to understand customer needs and issues and ensures that the site satisfactorily delivers a standard of service expected. 


    Qualifications

    • 12 years of experience leading manufacturing operations in a regulated environment highly preferred.
    • Bachelors degree preferred, or equivalent work experience.
    • Experience in design controls, manufacturing, validation, quality systems and statistics.
    • Problem solving and decision-making skills, with emphasis on data-based decisions and customer service.
    • Knowledge of medical device regulatory requirements.
    • Demonstrated capability and success in driving change management with a passion for talent development and driving a strong culture of accountability and engagement.

    Anticipated pay range: $130,700-$211,050
