Job Summary
Onsite meetings required in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Working within the Population Health Management department to utilize data to better understand performance and areas of opportunity. Working with stakeholders within the care delivery and plan system to understand data and trends. Development of program evaluation and business plans from a value payment perspective. Working with actuarial and contracting team members to understand performance to contract metrics and outcomes.
Essential Functions
- Provides clear, insightful analysis that tells a story and helps leaders make better decisions, using a variety of communication methods (PowerPoint, Word Documents, Dashboards, etc.). Provides visual design expertise and thought leadership to create easy-to-understand reports and dashboards that deliver insights.
- Analyzes, designs, codes, configures, tests, debugs, deploys, documents, and maintains self-service reporting assets and Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) for the purpose of populating data warehouse assets and sending data outside of data warehouse assets.
- Gathers and documents business program needs and translates them into a technical solution using visuals and creating data sources, metrics, and automation. Visuals, data sources, and automation will be created by using reporting tools and databases. Presents that technical solution to key stakeholders.
- Works with internal/external team(s) to define necessary information and create information solutions based on business, clinical, or project requirements needed to drive improvement in support of business strategies.
- Ensures that processes and services are continuously monitored for data accuracy, quality, effectiveness, and efficiency; participates in discovery sessions with operational leadership to find data discrepancies and identify issues. Engages in process and quality improvement activities, including working with the Data Governance team to optimize data quality and transparency.
- Drives and engages others with process and quality improvement activities.
- Participates in Agile ceremonies determining the nature and scope of project activities and processes to be developed or modified, working across teams to communicate development dependencies to accomplish a final solution.
- Performs job-related duties in conformance with DS standards and initiates and leads team through new/improved standards. Coaches less experienced Business Intelligence Analysts.
- Provides analytics that can turn data into critical information in understanding a systemic business need.
- Performs standard data analysis such as trend analysis and correlation to effectively interpret data, and reviews multiple data sets looking at correlating factors and relationships between data. Translation of business requests into broad, or long-term information that guides business decisions for future growth.
- Independently able to provide troubleshooting, maintenance, support, oversight, and technical guidance to other team members.
- Possesses knowledge of workflows in multiple business areas to support data development, analytics, and quality improvement activities. Guides less experienced Business Intelligence Developers in gaining workflow knowledge.
- Works with data architects as the architect designs relational and dimensional data models to verify that the model meets the use cases and aligns with strategic direction.
- Helps lead projects with varying levels of complexity to deliver coherent integrated technical solutions.
Qualifications
- Required Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in business, liberal arts, computer science, application programming, software development, information systems, database administration, mathematics, engineering, or other related field
- 5 years of relevant experience Required
- Payer and Payer contract experience preferred
- Medical Loss Ration experience preferred
- Value based care experience preferred
- Risk based contract experience preferred
- Finance experience preferred
