Primary Function/General Purpose of Position
This role provides executive leadership in the delivery of market’s Oncology Service Line's strategic, financial, operational and programmatic objectives. The Director will continually enhance the Oncology services striving for excellence both in service and in the business systems. This role ensures that the human, financial and material resources are mobilized and aligned to produce successful operational results and the building of a competitive market advantage in the following areas: financial outcomes, customer service, workforce (physician and support staff) capability and involvement and systems processes and cultural development.
Essential Job Functions
Responsible for development and implementation of strategic objectives determined
Responsible for day-to-day operations of oncology service line
Responsible for financial, budgetary, productivity and statistical reports and other key activities of the service line.
Oversees the business and financial affairs of the ambulatory, diagnostics, procedural and inpatient areas
Works closely with physicians in managing the clinical services and the development of clinical management support systems to enhance operational effectiveness, emphasizing cost containment without jeopardizing important innovation or quality of care
Ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies governing health care delivery
In conjunction with I&T, ensures oncology ambulatory and hospital practice IS systems are identified, implemented and maintained
Develops and manages relationships with other leadership team members, providers and payers to further the goals of the service line
Education
Required Education: Bachelors Degree in Healthcare, Business Management or related field.
Preferred Education: Graduate (Masters) Degree in Healthcare, Business Management or related field.
Work Experience
10 or more years of experience in healthcare with progressive operational experience in oncology inpatient/clinic setting, including blood cancer and cellular therapy, with five plus years in a senior level leadership capacity with a large medical group or hospital.
Demonstrated ability to increase revenue through program development, increased market share, business strategy as well as effecting improved operations.
Demonstrated proficiency in the management of complex business operational solutions in ambulatory/ clinic/ hospital environment.
