Heavy Assembler assembles fabricated parts to large or heavy subassemblies and completes units. Fits, tests, and calibrates parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications. Being a Heavy Assembler conducts welding, riveting, and trimming of parts to fit or align components. Uses hand and power tools, jigs, fixtures, and other assembly equipment. Additionally, Heavy Assembler typically requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Heavy Assembler works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Key Responsibilities
Responsible for assembling products on a bench or on the shop floor as needed for production. Parts to be assembled include aviation mechanical, fuel, or electrical parts and accessories.

Requirements
Required Education and Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous aviation assembly preferred.
Assembling experience required.
Required Technical Competencies
1) Ability to read and interpret blueprints, and circuit & wiring diagrams
2) Understanding of and experience with the following assembly equipment:
a. Volt/OHM Meter
b. Power Supplies
c. Riveting Machines
d. Soldering Equipment
e. Testing Equipment
f. Small hand/pneumatic/electrical tools to assist in assembly process
