Heavy Assembler assembles fabricated parts to relatively large or heavy subassemblies and complete units. Fits, tests, and calibrates parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications. Being a Heavy Assembler uses hand tools, jigs, fixtures, and miscellaneous power tools and equipment. May be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. Additionally, Heavy Assembler requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to supervisor or manager. The Heavy Assembler possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job.
