Heavy Assembler assembles fabricated parts to large or heavy subassemblies and completes units. Fits, tests, and calibrates parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications. Being a Heavy Assembler conducts welding, riveting, and trimming of parts to fit or align components. Uses hand and power tools, jigs, fixtures, and other assembly equipment. Additionally, Heavy Assembler typically requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Heavy Assembler works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. POSITION SUMMARY
The Assembler I is responsible for assembling parts using a variety of tools and equipment in a specific area of the production line. The ability to perform work accurately and thouroughtly with a high attention to detail are key attributes for this position. The Assembler I will be required to perform repetitive tasks on a standing production line for long periods of time.
