Help Desk Support responds to end-user requests for technical assistance by phone, email, or ticketing system. Troubleshoots and resolves basic computer, application, system, device, access, or performance issues. Being a Help Desk Support uses established processes and procedures to document, track, and resolve reported problems and to meet operational service levels and standards. Utilizes product information or solution database to research, troubleshoot, and deliver solutions. Additionally, Help Desk Support advises users on the methods, steps, and actions to resolve and avoid future issues and provides documentation as needed. Escalates problems to appropriate levels or teams to achieve issue resolution. May support installs or upgrades of software or devices, set up user profiles, or re-set passwords. Fulfills all service level standards for response time and quality. May require an associate degree. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Help Desk Support works under moderate supervision. Under limited supervision and a high level of judgment required, this technical services position provides management and troubleshooting of all classroom audio visual and computing equipment.
They provide tier 1 support for enterprise applications, and the infrastructure divisions, including, where appropriate, research and proactive maintenance at the assigned colleges.
The position will perform tier 1 technical support and administrative functions across the complete range of technologies supported by MCCS Information Technology Shared Services, requiring a vast knowledge of multiple user and server hardware, software, and Software as a Service environments.
This position is also responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining campus specific software and services based on their college assignment.
This position will be on-premise at the KVCC campus in Fairfield Maine. The position is required to keep up to date on current computer technology in order to perform their duties and contribute to recommendations regarding policy development and improvements.
They may also provide input for the development of information technology plans for the college, working collaboratively with college employees, the Helpdesk Manager and MCCS Associate Chief Information Officer.
This position is eligible for overtime and may on occasion be asked to work nights and / or weekends.Minimum Qualifications : The required minimum qualifications include an associate degree in information technology or similar field and four years of relevant work experience.
