  • Objective

    Provides help desk support for IT hardware, software, network, and operating system problems by answering questions from users and performing troubleshooting inquiries. Tests, deploys and installs hardware/software. Identifies threats to information security. Collects and processes forms for setting up users for remote access and applications. Requires minimum 2 years experience in Help Desk Support, basic understanding of PC hardware, software, and connectivity components, strong knowledge of computer operating systems and strong knowledge of company’s software. Solid customer service experience and strong written and verbal communication skills are required.

    Essential Responsibilities

    The following duties ARE NOT intended to serve as a comprehensive list of all duties performed by all employees in this position, only a representative summary of the primary duties and responsibilities.     • Maintain filing system for IT manuals, infrastructure map and software documentation, licenses, warrantees, contracts, etc.
    • Assist in the training of all staff in regards to hardware and software usage and policies.
    • Assist in establishment of computer usage policies and enforcement.
    • Assess, acquire and maintain software and hardware to support technology infrastructure.
    • Manage changes and growth in reference to technology infrastructure and business plan.
    • Backup and Maintain company data.
    • Manage information network and user permissions.
    • Maintain inventory and maintenance of workstations, laptops, servers and peripheral devices.
    • Maintain telephone system (Digital VOIP).
    • Ensure consistent technology service.
    • Ensure system security and integrity.
    • Software and hardware troubleshooting.
    • Reduce downtime and increase productivity of the technology infrastructure.
    • Other duties as assigned.
    • Perform R & D work as directed.
    • Other duties as requested.
    Qualifications, Requirements, and/or Experience
    • Employment experience and/or equivalent education in network infrastructure and Microsoft environments, including Windows Operating Systems, Office, Active Directory, SQL Server and Exchange.
    • Communicate with all departments of Apex Industries, with dedicated focus on communications with Operations Manager.
    • Demonstrate good judgment, decision-making skills, and creative problem solving.
    • Demonstrated experience with network management.
    • Excellent researching and troubleshooting skills for a wide variety of software and hardware.

    • Some noise and plastic chips in manufacturing area.
    • Safety glasses required on the manufacturing floor outside of designated safety corridor
    • Hearing protection recommended in vicinity of machinery
    • Compliance with company safety practices and procedures.
    • Ability to lift and carry 35 lbs.
