IT Help Desk Manager

  • Key Responsibilities: 

    Team Leadership and Management:

    • Lead, motivate, and support team within a time-sensitive and demanding environment. 
    • Manage the recruitment, training, and development of the IT Help Desk team. 
    • Conduct performance evaluations and provide performance feedback.

    Help Desk Operations:

    • Oversee the daily performance of the IT help desk.
    • Ensure customer service excellence and guaranteed response times by actively monitoring support tickets and directing the workflow of the team. 
    • Develop and enforce help desk policies, procedures, and process standards.

    Technical Support:

    • Ensure that all requests from users are logged, tracked, and resolved in a timely manner. 
    • Troubleshoot complex technical issues in collaboration with the team.
    • Provide hands-on support for IT incidents and requests when necessary.

      IT Inventory Management: 

    • Oversee the organization's IT inventory, including tracking, management, and auditing of IT assets. 
    • Ensure compliance with procurement and asset management policies.
    • Coordinate the allocation, maintenance, and auditing of IT equipment and software licenses. 

    Continuous Improvement:

    • Identify and implement improvements to the help desk processes and IT inventory management. 
    • Develop strategies to improve overall customer satisfaction and reduce support tickets. 
    • Stay current with technology trends and IT best practices, recommending changes and enhancements to the existing system. 

      Reporting and Communication: 

    • Prepare regular reports on help desk operations, IT inventory status, and projects. 
    • Communicate with senior management on help desk issues, inventory needs, and initiatives. 
    • Act as an escalation point for unresolved or escalated calls.

    Qualifications: 

    • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
    • Proven experience in IT help desk management or similar role.
    • Strong technical knowledge of computer systems, networks, and systems software.
    • Experience in IT inventory management and asset tracking.
    • Excellent leadership, team management, and communication skills.
    • Ability to diagnose and resolve complex IT issues.
    • Strong customer service orientation and problem-solving skills.
    • Professional IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Microsoft Certified IT Professional) are an asset. 

    Working Conditions: 

    • Office-based role with standard working hours.
    • May require occasional evening and weekend work to meet deadlines or solve critical issues.
