    Job Description:

    Description: The Help Desk Technician operates and controls production on computer systems in the customer technical support center.

    Typical Duties:

    Diagnoses and resolves technical computer hardware and software issues using advanced troubleshooting skills.

    Provides first and second level technical support for all end users with PC hardware and software issues using a ticket management system. Resolves first level technical problems with Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), and other systems.

    Identifies and escalates situations requiring urgent attention.

    Acts as a liaison between end users and internal support staff to assure accurate problem interpretation.

    Analyzes incidents to spot common trends and be proactive to resolve underlying problems.

    Tracks issues to resolution updating the internal knowledgebase and/or communicating learnings with relevant business units.

    Follows up on tickets at pre-defined intervals until resolved.

    Assists in research, analysis, problem solving, and actively participates in the testing and implementation of new systems.

    Researches issues using available information resources.

    Operates peripheral equipment, including printers.

    Supports and maintains user accounts including rights, permissions, and system groups in an Active Directory environment. Creates, changes, and deletes user accounts for multiple systems.

    Writes routine reports and correspondence.

    Provides backup duties to Computer Operations. Provides support as needed to all other groups within Health Technology Solutions.

    • Performs other related duties as assigned.


    Qualifications:


      Required Education and Experience:
    • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.

    • Preferred Education and Experience:
    • 2 years of experience working in a help desk environment supporting Dell or compatible PCs, or 2 years of experience in a high volume customer service call center.
