The High School Teacher evaluates and monitors student's performance. Prepares lesson plans and instructs adolescents. Being a High School Teacher some states require that teachers be certified. Requires a bachelor's degree and 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. In addition, High School Teacher is familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision; typically reports to the principal. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Collaborate with colleagues across grade levels to support the STEM curriculum and school-wide initiatives. Actively participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with PLTW programs and engineering education. Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with students, parents, and administration. Qualifications: Valid Indiana teaching license, or eligibility for licensure, in Engineering, Technology Education, or a related field. Experience teaching at the middle or high school level preferred, especially within a PLTW framework. Passion for STEM education and a commitment to fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment.
