Histology Technologist jobs in Nevada
Histology Technologist performs complex histological procedures used to prepare specimens of tissue for examination and analysis by a Pathologist. Performs grossing, processing, embedding, microtomy, and both routine and multiple staining of samples. Being a Histology Technologist performs quality control on completed slides. Identifies problems that may affect diagnosis and results. Additionally, Histology Technologist records observations from tests. Documents maintenance of instruments and equipment used in the lab. Complies with established laboratory policies for universal precautions and safety. Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically requires completion of an accredited histotechnology program. Requires ASCP Histotechnologist certification (HTL). Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Histology Technologist's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Ghost RX is looking to hire qualified Laboratory Technicians to work as a civilian contractor at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center located in Las Vegas, NV.
Schedule:
The technicians we are looking for will work from 0500 – 1330p, Monday through Friday.
Job Duties:
Receive specimens from different surgery departments.
Fix, dehydrate, infiltrate and embed tissue specimen.
Operate instrumentation for tissue dehydration, section, clearing, and impregnation with paraffin, cutting tissue sections and staining of slides.
Maintain accurate documentation, including computerized documents and monitor quality control programs.
Monitor inventory of supplies and equipment per established procedures and manufacturer’s instructions.
Performing tasks which are within a scope permitted by the policies and procedures of local, state, and federal regulatory commission.
Maintain continuing educational units (CEU’s) for licensure and re-certification.Ghost RX Inc Job ID #165.
