Histology Technologist jobs in Temple, TX

Busy medical office/physician practice/surgery center seeking histology technician.

We are looking for a highly motivated person willing to learn how to do histology laboratory work. The applicant has to be a team player with a positive attitude, and be willing to learn. Hours for this position could vary based on workload in the laboratory. Certification a plus!

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to in the Histology Laboratory:

• Learn the flow of the lab
• Processing
• Embedding
• Cutting
• Staining
• Signing out specimens
• Accessioning specimens
• Preparing for dictation
• Cleaning staining line
• Checking for errors
• Communicating directly to Supervisor
• Appropriate biohazard waste
• Allocating and organizing supplies
• Must be able to pass background check and drug screen, and must have the following education completed:

Working towards an Assoc. degree in medical laboratory technology, chemical sciences or biological sciences OR

60 college hours including 24 hours of medical laboratory technology OR 24 hours of sciences that include 6 hours of chemistry, 6 hours of biology and 12 hours of chemistry/biology/medical laboratory technology in any combination.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 50 per week
