Job Title: Mortgage Processor

Location: Houston, TX or Remote

Job Summary:

The Mortgage Processor is responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate processing of mortgage loans from application through closing. This role requires a thorough understanding of government (FHA, VA, USDA) and conventional loan guidelines, and the ability to manage a pipeline effectively. Construction financing and experience with closing and funding processes are preferred, though not required.

Key Responsibilities:

 Loan Processing

o Accurately review and verify loan documentation, ensuring all required documents are complete and compliant with FHA, VA, USDA, and conventional loan guidelines.

o Maintain constant communication with borrowers, loan officers, underwriters, and third parties to ensure smooth processing and resolution of any loan issues.

o Submit loan files to underwriting for approval and handle any required conditions post-underwriting approval.

 Document Management

o Organize and maintain accurate loan files, ensuring all information is updated in the system and adheres to regulatory standards.

o Monitor the pipeline and track loan status, following up on outstanding items, and ensuring timely loan closings.

 Quality Control

o Review and confirm accuracy of all borrower information, credit reports, income, asset documentation, and property appraisals.

o Conduct final loan document reviews to guarantee loan files meet compliance standards and prepare them for the closing process.

 Communication and Support

o Provide excellent customer service by addressing borrower inquiries promptly and professionally.

o Serve as the main point of contact for borrowers during the loan process, ensuring they are well-informed of each step and understand required actions on their part.

Qualifications:

 Experience

o Minimum of 4 years of mortgage processing experience with expertise in FHA, VA, and USDA loan programs and conventional financing.

o Familiarity with construction financing is preferred but not required.

o Closing and funding experience is a bonus.

 Skills

o Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple loan files simultaneously.

o Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for clear communication with clients and team members.

o Proficiency with Encompass and ability to adapt quickly to new technology and processes.

 Knowledge

o In-depth understanding of government loan guidelines and requirements.

o Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance in mortgage processing.

o Ability to work efficiently within deadlines and ensure quality control throughout the loan process.
