Hospital Staffing Coordinator coordinates scheduling and staffing to ensure sufficient staff coverage for all shifts within a healthcare facility. Works with clinical and administrative departments to project staffing needs and achieve required staffing levels. Being a Hospital Staffing Coordinator utilizes and maintains staffing scheduling software/programs to schedule shifts, monitor staffing levels, and input related data. May perform other administrative functions as necessary. Additionally, Hospital Staffing Coordinator may be responsible for recruiting new staff. Typically requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Hospital Staffing Coordinator works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline.   • Summary

    The primary purpose of this position is to assist with staff scheduling and administer the personnel, payroll and benefit functions of the facility under the direction of the Staffing Director in accordance with current federal, state and local laws. The Staffing Coordinator must provide help in recruiting, assisting employee’s in completing new hire packets, and function in an accurate and proficient manner.

    Essential Job Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities

    • Performs regular scheduling of nursing staff in accordance with management instructions and facility needs.
    • Assist the Staffing Director in the recruiting and onboarding of new employees including assist applicants with job application, screen candidates, prepare offers, schedule new hires for required training.
    • Plan, organize, implement, evaluate and direct the facility personnel, assist with payroll and benefit functions.
    • Assist in developing and maintaining policies and procedure that govern personnel, payroll and benefits. Resource for employee questions.
    • Interpret the facility personnel policies to supervisors, employees, visitors and government agencies.
    • Prepare monthly financial and statistical reports for the Staffing Director.
    • Maintain personnel and payroll files to assure compliance with facility, federal, state and local guidelines.
    • Utilize, provide and evaluate reports for tracking licenses/certifications, TB test, CPR, evaluations, job observations and reports generated for department directors.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Required Skills and Qualifications

    Must possess the ability to make independent decisions, follow instructions, and accept constructive criticism. Must be able to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public. Must be able to work with ill, disabled, elderly, and emotionally upset people within the facility. Must be able to speak, write and understand English in a manner that is sufficient for effective communication with supervisors, employees, residents, and families.

    Education and Experience

    • High school diploma or equivalent.

    • Proficient with Microsoft Office

    • Personnel/Payroll experience preferred

    • Onshift, ADP Workforce Now, and Parim experience preferred
